What do you associate Sweden with? Battle of Poltava, ABBA group, Swedish family or Swedish wall? And it's also the birthplace of Anna Johansson, a doctor who created a real revolution in nutrition with a diet like the "6-flower diet".
The essence of the diet
You can immediately calm down, you need to eat not only six petals a day, the diet is more varied and, in principle, does not include flowers. Although drJohansson promises that you can lose 5 kg in a week with her diet, it seems an incredible result.
A petal is a diet day when you can only eat a certain amount of one type of food. The order of the days is important, so you can even draw yourself a flower with six petals, write on each menu and a serial number and strictly follow the recommendations.
That, by the way, is the convenience of this diet. You don't have to guess what to eat. You know exactly what your diet is for the coming days.
In a sense, this is a mono-diet, but the body does not have time to get used to one type of food and go into an energy-saving mode. Additionally, studies have shown that mono diets lasting less than a day are most effective for burning fat.
The results of this diet are achieved through a protein-carbohydrate alternation and a reduction in the amount of calories consumed. You eat one type of food every day and don't mix proteins with carbohydrates, which allows you to break down fats more efficiently.
How to cook food
Food can be boiled, stewed, baked or stewed, but it is strictly forbidden to fry or add oil. Also, the author suggests limiting coffee consumption to 1-2 small cups per day. Of course without sugar. In her opinion, it is better to drink tea or mineral water without gas in an amount of at least 1. 5 liters per day. But under no circumstances should you drink liquid food just 30 minutes before a meal or an hour after.
And so that the feeling of hunger does not conquer you, divide all the food into 4-5 receptions. And you don't have to stick to fixed intervals. wanted to eat? Went and ate something. Well, or drank green tea.
You can stick to the diet for two weeks in a row. But don't forget to take a break of at least two weeks before trying again.
With all this, the diet is contraindicated:
- Pregnant;
- nursing mothers;
- In diseases of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, heart, endocrine system (especially diabetes);
- With anemia;
- In case of infections or immediately after an illness;
- worsening of a chronic disease.
And although this is not a direct contraindication, it will be difficult for you to follow such a diet if you work. Therefore, it is better to save it for vacation.
Flower diet - one petal every day
And now let's take a closer look at what this Swede came up with.
first petal
On the first day, it is recommended to only eat fish, but not more than 500 grams. Of course, this should not be eaten all at once, but should be spread throughout the day. From these 500 grams you can make a few cutlets, bake fish in the oven or on the grill, prepare stews and even fish soup, which consists of water, spices and fish.
An example menu could look like this:
- Breakfast: boiled perch fillet (cod, hake or zander);
- Lunch: Lean fish (eg carp) baked with dill and parsley or silver carp fillet cutlets;
- Snack: fish cakes, fish in a water bath or fish soup (no vegetables, only spices and herbs);
- Dinner: boiled zander or grilled fish.
Second Petal
You can treat yourself to a total of 1500 grams of vegetables and herbs. It is better if these are vegetables with a low glycemic index: zucchini, cauliflower, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash. It doesn't just go canned because that's where sugar is added.
Of course, you don't have to limit yourself to salads and raw vegetables. You can make a stew, a casserole or just have a glass of vegetable juice, not from the store, of course.

- Lunch: Vegetable stew or mashed potatoes, vinaigrette;
- Snack: boiled potatoes, stewed cabbage or stewed vegetables;
- Dinner: salad, grilled vegetables.

Suitable options for dishes would be boiled chicken or baked chicken broth.

seventh petal
No, this is not an optical illusion. And yes, you read the name of the diet correctly. There really are six petals and you need to alternate six types of diets, but there is something as important as getting off the diet. The day you realize you can do anything.
The main thing on this day is not to relax so much that you regain half of what you lost. Someone is recommending a gradual phase-out, advising to only eat the foods you ate while on a diet for now and only increase your portions slightly.
Advocates of radical methods say the easy way isn't for us and suggest spending the seventh day solely on the water. Which of these two options suits you more - choose for yourself.
Of course, you can also just wave your hand and dive back into the world of delicious cakes.
Why nutrition is good
Will This Diet Help You If You Decide To Lose Weight? Definitely yes, the Swedes did their best. If you try, you will lose 0. 6 - 0. 9 kg per day.
Can you survive it without glitches? Also a positive answer. The diet is quite simple and allows you to eat enough so as not to look longingly and nostalgically at a piece of bread.
However, for all its effectiveness, "6 petals" still does not solve the problem of your future diet. Six days of the diet will pass, and you will return to your usual diet, and it will already give you back the lost kilograms. So even if you do this diet, it's best to see it as an opportunity to take a step towards a healthier future.
